  • Knucklebones for 3rd-5th: Amazing Race

    Knucklebones for 3rd-5th
    Amazing Race:
With 30 seasons, Amazing Race has created some the greatest challenges
on television. In Knucklebones' version, we'll have participants
travel through areas, compete in Road Blocks & challenges and, at the
end of the day, arrive at the final "Pit Stop". Working in groups,
pairs and individuals, participants will be presented with their very
own season of the Amazing Race!

Knucklebones is a Somerville based organization that provides each and every client with a fun and fulfilling experience. We pledge to “keep the bar high” allowing everyone the opportunity to excel.  With a “practice makes progress” perspective, we will allow each client to fulfill his or her full potential.  We use our voices, not whistles, in an encouraging and often humorous way to gain and hold our client’s attention.  Our belief in “Choice Theory” encourages a safe and fun environment while making good, healthy decisions.
  • Music with Julie

Throughout the week, children will use different instrument, props, and games to help learn basics of rhythm and melody. As we sing, dance, drum, and shake, we will focus on various aspects of music, ie. different types of notes, dynamics, tempos, songwriting, etc. This will be a time to have fun, and to be silly and creative through music making. At the end of the week, the group will have the opportunity to show the rest of the program a song, game, or musical story.

    Julie Rama Winslow
is the PreK music teacher at Fayerweather and has been teaching music and movement in various settings for over 10 years. She has compiled song and musical traditions, some of which she learned as a student at Fayerweather, into her early childhood curriculum, and is excited to share it with the children in SummerTime 2018. When she's not teaching music, Julie sings in a band called The Jumping Monkeys
